Occupational Hygiene Technician
Occuhealth is an Occupational Hygiene Consulting Company providing services to a diverse range of Industries including (but not limited to), mining, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, oil and gas, and transport sectors. As a multiple AIOH award winner, Occuhealth is passionate about occupational health and hygiene, and are seeking a dynamic Occupational Hygiene Technician who is ready to develop their career. This position will be both diverse and challenging with the ability to work across Western Australia.
Duties:
The position requires a highly motivated and organised person with excellent interpersonal skills. They must be able to work independently, showing initiative and good problem/decision making skills to perform the following duties;
- Provide technical advice on occupational health issues
- Atmospheric contaminant and noise monitoring, audits and surveys
- Development and delivery of training packages
- Occupational exposure assessments – qualitative and quantitative
- Use and calibration of hygiene equipment
- Lighting, ventilation and asbestos surveys
- Respirator and earplug fit testing
- Consultation and communication with workgroups and management
- Technical report writing
Position Requirements:
The successful applicants will have the following competencies;
- Tertiary qualification in OH&S or a science/health related field
- This is a FIFO role and therefore must be able to travel to sites throughout Western Australia where required (essential)
- Certificate IV in Surface Ventilation Technician (essential)
- Competent computer skills in Microsoft suite including Word and Excel
- Approved Noise Officer in accordance with MSI Regulations 1995 (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in the hygiene fields
- Experience in asbestos fibre monitoring, counting and management (desirable)
- Hold a current manual driver’s license
